Characteristics:Seemingly cold and stoic, Talan is hard to read most of the time. If not all of the time. A man of few words, he seldom voices his feelings, be they flirtations with a stranger newly met, or his nigh constant confusion at life outside of the Skatay Range. All he can be consistently relied upon to voice is his discomfort in warmer climes.Hooks:
New to it All: Talan has only recently left his frozen home of the Skatay Range. All sorts of societal norms in larger cities, from travel to currency, greatly bewilder him, and one is often likely to find him stubbornly struggling to adapt.Unemployed: One of his biggest struggles so far has been acquiring the poorly understood gil. Chafing under his brother's charity, Talan will take just about any odd job he comes across, whether he has the requisite skills, or not.Frigidly Aloof: Due to an undisclosed tragedy in his past, Talan tends to keep everyone and everyone at arm's length. A patient ear and steady hand might eventually break through the layers of ice to the warmth and passion beneath.
Backstory
Born in an isolated Vieran village in the Skatay Mountain Range of Othard, Talan's childhood was troubled, to say the least. Struggling under the strictures of his mother, the Chieftainess, one of his few sources of comfort was his paternal grandmother, the tribes Seeress, who recognized in him a great sensitivity for aether, or Mist, as the Viera called it.Getting by until his teenage years, the young Talan was eventually retrieved from the village by a different male than his father to begin his training as a Wood-warder. Taking to it rather quickly, Talan became a prodigy of the lance and magicks, both, completing his training almost a year early.Content with his place in the world for a time, tragedy eventually struck. With his sensitivity to Mist suddenly turned against him, Talan became party to a horrific act that he refuses to talk about. Summarily exiled, he took on a new name, as was custom, fashioned after those of the Hyur clans he first chanced to meet after leaving home. Lost in a world now far bigger and more complex than he ever understood, Talan is seeking his older half-brother, the only connection he knows of outside of his former home.

But, as Talan is on the move, looking for work or his brother, one-shot RP is also welcome.- Mature RP and shenanigans are ok, just don't be rude, and don't be weird about it. In light of that, or other things that may come up, ranging from alcohol to darker themes, I ask that players and characters both be over 21.- RP over Discord ( Auberon) preferred. In-game is also ok, I'm just hard to schedule around, sometimes.
